Victoria Falls
One of the Natural Wonders of the World, the famous Victoria Falls are the biggest falling curtain of water in the world. Created by volcanic activity, erosion and the course of the mighty Zambezi River, the spectacular Victoria Falls has captured the hearts, minds and spirits of people everywhere. The Victoria Falls are shared by both Zambia and Zimbabwe and are territorially divided by Cecil Rhodes' famous bridge - which he never lived to see. As well as a spectacular view down into the gorge, this bridge has more recently become famous for its adrenaline-pumping bungi jump with a fall of 364 feet (111 meters)! The other most popular adventure pursuit here is white-water rafting on the Zambezi.

Zambezi River
The majestic Zambezi River rises in northwestern Zambia, from an insignificant spring in Kaloma and runs for a total length of
2 700 kilometres (1 678 miles). It is the fourth longest river in Africa and traverses six countries on its journey to the Indian Ocean. Its mighty power has carved the spectacular Victoria Falls and the ever deepening, zigzagging Batoka Gorge, about half way along the length of the river. At peak average flood there is 550 000 cubic metres of water thundering over the Falls per minute.

Zambezi National Park
Six kilometres (3.73 miles) from the falls, the Zambezi National Park, wild with bush and big game, stretches along the river for forty kilometres. There are many lodges in the park with views of the river. The park is well known for its fine herds of sable antelopes. Elephant are common and both the black and white rhinoceros, which had become locally extinct, have been reintroduced. Kudu, impala, waterbuck, zebra, lion, leopard and hyena are plentiful and herds of eland are sometimes sighted.
